Launched in a highly successful IPO in 2005, International Cargo Airlines Company KSC, trading as LoadAir, has been granted a license to carry cargo to and from Kuwait. LoadAir is developing intercontinental cargo operations that will be managed from its base in Kuwait International Airport. LoadAir intends to build up world-class cargo facilities at Kuwait Airport.
To develop its cargo operations, LoadAir placed an order with Boeing in July 2006 for two new 747-400ERFs powered by GE engines. By acquiring the 747-400ERF, with a payload capacity of up to 113 tons, LoadAir will have access to fuel efficient equipment with the longest range for any available cargo aircraft. This allows LoadAir to serve major Asian and European cargo hubs on a time efficient way.
The Delivery of LoadAir Aircraft’s is expected to be during the 4th quarter of 2009. Operations are expected to commence upon delivery.
